As you may be aware, we were due to give a few payload seminars at the Harrogate & Peterborough Motorhome Show, but sadly, the current situation negated that. However, for your viewing pleasure, we have uploaded the 2-part seminar onto YouTube, (in 2 separate videos).
The links to each are:
Part 1
Part 2
We hope this helps you understand the issues surrounding payloads, and encourages you to weigh your motorhome at the earliest opportunity.
We are here to help you with any problems you may have, so please do contact us. We are open!
Stay safe and well, and look after each other.
thank you so much for these two videos, although i have understood a lot of the issue with weight and payload & am rather paranoid about it, at the last weigh in july i was 20kg over weight. my local council have installed a new weighbridge, almost doubled the cost but it can’t weigh the axles!
i’ve individually weighed and removed enough kilos to be legal but am gutted that with 2 adults we both are under 75kg & 1x23kg dog i can’t take my bike. i do have all the dog stuff over the cab & now wonder if the front axle could be overloaded. note to self: weigh it all & see how much it is.
plan A, is that i am applying to retrieve the C1 licence that i lost last year at age 70 & if i achieve that i will look into increasing the payload and so will be in touch later.
Plan B is to consider removing the wind out awning & buy lightweight garden parasols.
i do feel, however that most manufacturers and converters are selling goods which are not fit for purpose. thank you once more
Sincere thanks Richard, great presentation and immensely helpful. Time to practice ‘self control’ of our packing and next stop is the nearest weighbridge! Hope it is ok, I have shared this on a couple of MH Facebook groups.
